Miquel Barcelo, 1984 - 1994
Catalogue of an exhibition Barcelo at IVAM, Centre del Carme, Valencia, in 1995. It was the first great exhibition of Barcelo. Texts in Spanish and English of Enrique Juncosa. All the important paintings of Barcelo appear in this exhibition and in the catalogue: "L'amour fou", "Tinta, vino, lluvia", the series of the restaurants, of the movie theaters, the worrying works such as "Sistole diastole" of 1987, or "Zeros" of 1988. Barcelo shows all its maitrise with its white works of 1988 ("Coprolithes"); its paintings chopped with tronçoneuse ("Déluge", "Rain seasons" of 1990); its bullfights; its workshops; and its marvellous still lifes ("In extremis", 1994). The notebooks of Africa de Barcelo are also shown. The catalogue ends in a very exhaustive biography.
