Catalogue of the exhibition Pierre Alechinsky at the Galerie Nationale du Jeu de Paume in Paris in 1998 which show paintings carried out between 1948 and 1997. A hundred of works is reproduced, oil paintings, acrylic on paper, prints with the series of the trades of 1948 (etchings and dry points), and inks on paper - or on another support like this marvellous series "Page of universal atlas" where Alechinsky reveals bunches of flowers on Spain and Portugal, mysterious animals in the area of Nantes and Rouen, or an enigmatic profile on the Bay of Gascogne marrying the French and Spanish coasts perfectly. (10 Indian inks, carried out in 1984). In the end of the catalogue is a very important "Chronology", biography very complete of the artist, richly illustrated of photographs of Alechinsky.
